Why now

Three dates in 2026 change what a correct roster and a correct pay run look like under the SCHADS Award.

  • 1 June 2026: the sleepover variation (PR798459). Clauses on ordinary hours, rest breaks, overtime and shift loadings were varied for shifts either side of a sleepover. A sleepover is no longer treated as a break between periods of work.
  • 1 July 2026: the annual wage review increase. Award rates rose by 4.75% from the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2026, so every rate in your payroll and roster costings is new.
  • 1 December 2026: the Schedule E interim increase. It applies from the first full pay period on or after 1 December 2026, ahead of the new classification structure from 1 October 2027.

Who it's for

Payroll officers, rostering coordinators, operations and finance managers at NDIS and community-sector providers.

  • Payroll officers who need to know which rule applies to a shift before they pay it.
  • Rostering coordinators whose roster decides what the pay run has to pay.
  • Operations and finance managers (and owners) who carry the back-pay risk if either gets it wrong.

Questions

Is this course accredited?

No. It is a non-accredited workshop. You receive a certificate of completion, which is not a nationally recognised qualification. The point of the session is practical: applying the award correctly to real rosters and pay runs.

Is any payment taken when I reserve a seat?

No. Reserving a seat is an expression of interest. We do not ask for card details. When a cohort is confirmed we email you the date and the price, and you decide then.

What happens if the cohort does not fill?

The cohort runs once 10 seats are reserved. If it does not fill, we email you to say so and nothing is charged.

Can I send my team?

Yes. Enter the number of seats you want in the form (up to 50 per request) and tell us in the notes who is coming if you know. Payroll, rostering and operations staff often attend together so the roster and the pay run follow the same rules.

Is the session recorded?

Yes. The workshop is live and online, and a recording is included so people who cannot attend live, or want to revisit a module, can watch it later.

How does this relate to the CrossVault timesheet checker?

They are separate. The workshop teaches you the rules and how to check a pay run yourself. The CrossVault checker applies those rules to your own timesheet export and shows the clause and rows behind each flag. You do not need a CrossVault account to reserve a seat.

Want to see the rules applied to your own timesheet first?

Upload a timesheet export to the CrossVault checker and see which shifts it flags, with the award clause and the rows behind each one.
