SCHADS Sleepover Allowance Calculator

Disturbances are priced at the conservative floor — one disturbance per affected night, one hour at 150%. How Sleepover Pay Works
- The allowance — $62.87 for each night (from 1 July 2026), paid whether or not anything happens. It compensates for sleeping over, not for work.
- Work either side — the shifts immediately before and after are ordinary (or penalty/overtime) hours in their own right, paid on top of the allowance.
- Disturbances — each time the employee is required to perform work during the sleepover, that's paid work with a minimum of one hour at the applicable overtime rate per disturbance (clause 25.7(e)). Wake-ups recorded in progress notes but never reaching payroll are one of the most common underpayments we find in provider timesheets.
