Standard full-time employees get 4 weeks of paid annual leave per year. However, **shift workers** under the SCHADS Award may be entitled to **5 weeks**.

A shift worker is defined as an employee who work shifts in accordance with a roster which includes 24/7 operations and regularly works Sundays and Public Holidays.

Annual Leave Loading

When taking annual leave, employees must be paid the greater of:
1. Their ordinary pay plus a **17.5% loading**; OR
2. The weekend/shift penalties they would have received if they had worked.
